Here's my favorite tv shows and why.
---Two and a Half Men ... OK, call me a poster boy for "lowest common denominator", but it has a great redeeming feature ... IT'S FUNNY! So what if some of the humor is rank, toilet humor, and very ribald. Again, it makes me laugh. ---Gary, Unmarried ... Ditto from above. Extra feature is the kids. Great talent. ---60 Minutes ... Some of the featured reports on this show are about as much depth as you can get on TV. Scott Pelley, Lesley Stahl (geez, I've had a crush on her for years), and Steve Kroft; all great reporters and interviewers. And, of course, Andy Rooney, everyman's curmudgeon. ---Anything with Bob Schieffer, Diane Sawyer, Charles Gibson, or Charlie Rose. I don't know exactly why; they just seem prone to telling it like it is. Also ask some very pointed questions. ---PBS ... Great for the most part, but their subscription sales breaks are mind numbing yackety-yack and waaaay too long. Still, PBS needs to be supported, because, so far, the network seems to be free of too much commercial restraint. ---NCIS ... Holy gopher, I almost forgot my one look-in to guts, guns, and girls. Great ensemble, but I do wish Tony would occasionally smack Gibbs back.
